5 FOR THE FUTURE

'5 for the Future' of Iowa Communities, an Iowa Council of Foundations initiative.

Imagine Iowa's future if each of us chose to invest 5% of our assets in community causes.

We would see small-town dreams realized, and funds flow to solutions that help neighbors flourish. The possibilities are as unique as the places:

We care about the places where we’ve put down roots. Seeding our community’s future is a collective effort. When we all leave five, our hometowns thrive! Planned endowment giving can help protect, grow, and spread wealth that would otherwise disappear from our communities and our state. This continues the quality of life Iowans cherish.

Realizing this vision takes planning and preparation, and the Community Foundation for Western Iowa is your trusted partner.

Over the next 40 years in Iowa, more than $128 billion will change hands, from one generation to the next. This intergenerational wealthmay be held in real estate or farms, stocks or securities, retirement accounts, and other assets. Some will go to taxes, but most will go to heirs. And, many of those heirs no loner live where the wealth was built. Now is the time to plan a legacy of giving that preserves generational wealth.
