raise $1.5 million during Giving Tuesday 712

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (Dec. 7, 2023) – Western Iowa came out in full force to support nonprofits and their important work throughout nine counties during Giving Tuesday 712 on November 28, 2023.

Western Iowa raised $1.5 million this year on the global day of giving, up from last year’s $1.3 million in donations. According to the Community Foundation for Western Iowa, donations jumped 24% on Giving Tuesday through the SHARE Iowa platform. SHARE Iowa is an initiative of the Community Foundation for Western Iowa.

“This year’s Giving Tuesday activities exceeded our expectations and truly illustrate the generosity of Iowans,” said Donna Dostal, CEO at the Community Foundation for Western Iowa. “We are honored to support the great work of our nonprofit partners in western Iowa and are committed to help them grow and achieve their philanthropic missions by connecting them to resources and the folks that really want to give where we live.”

SHARE Iowa is a one-stop online platform that supports the good work of nonprofits in nine western Iowa counties by connecting residents to easy ways of doing good through financial giving, in-kind donations of items and volunteerism. SHARE Iowa’s resources are brought to the region by the
